World Book Day 2020

Standard

We love books in Nursery and read them everyday. When it came to World Book Day we were told by Mrs Ainsley that we had to decorate our doors with our favourite book. We started off by talking about our favourite story books in Nursery. There were 2 clear favourites in all four groups of children.

We decide to have a vote to decide which book we would turn into our door. Everyone was given a cube and had to put it on their favourite book to make it fair.

It was a close run thing but our favourite was THE TIGER WHO CAME TO TEA. We got busy making our door. We drew round Eliza to make Sophie and the children helped pick out the right colours for the different sections of the pictures. They knew each section had to be the right colour and we couldn’t mix them up. Our teachers then helped us to stick up the finished characters on the door ready for everyone to see.

We decided to go for a walk along the downstairs corridor to see everyone else’s doors and find out about their favourite books. We made sure we had a good look at our door as well on the way back.

We thought everyone did a wonderful job and loved looking at their doors. Can you remember which one was your favourite?

You’ll also see our costumes in the photographs we were allowed to come to Nursery dressed as our favourite book characters.

If you don’t have the books at home you can see them being read here….
