All About Elephants

This week we have been doing lots of learning about elephants!

We have been finding elephants everywhere…

We visited the library to find some elephant stories…

mb-012

We made a giant Elmer outside and learnt about our colours…

We also learnt about our colours and practised our cutting and threading…

We have been doing lots of elephant baking for Macmillan Coffee Morning and Grandparents Afternoon Tea …

We even learnt some elephant songs …

Elephants Have Wrinkles

Elephants have wrinkles, wrinkles, wrinkles,

Elephants have wrinkles, wrinkles everywhere,

On their toes (on their toes)

No-one knows (no-one knows)

Why-I-I-I

Elephants have wrinkles, wrinkles, wrinkles,

Elephants have wrinkles, wrinkles everywhere,

On their knees (on their knees)

On their toes (on their toes)

No-one knows (no-one knows)

Why-I-I-I

(repeat with different body parts)

What have we been learning?

We have been learning all about elephants like what they look like, where they live and how they move

We have been learning to take turns, follow instructions and all about germs while we did our baking

We learnt our colours with our giant Elmer and our coloured threading in the water tray

We built the strength in our fingers by using scissors and threading beads

We learnt a new song and practised finding different body parts

How can you continue learning at home?

Go and see the herd of elephants around Sheffield!

Go to the library and see if you can find some more elephant stories

Practise your cutting and threading at home with scraps of paper or fabric

Do some baking of your own!

Sing elephants have wrinkles or your own elephant songs at home

We do still have some elephant questions to answer like …

Do elephants lay eggs?

Do elephants have baths?

Do elephants brush their teeth?

Come back soon to see if we find the answers!
