The children decided that they would like to learn all about bones and skeletons.
We read the story Funny Bones.
We thought about the bones in our body and played the sponge game to find our body parts. In Tummy Talk we thought about why are bones are important.
We matched and sorted bones into different sizes and put animal bones back together.
Then we thought about x-rays. We had x-rays on the light table and made x-rays in the play dough.
We were learning to match and sort by size. We used sizes words to describe length, like long and short. We learnt about parts of our body and why we needed our bones.
How can you continue learning at home?
Use chalk and black paper to draw X-rays
Cut bones of different sizes out of paper
Use salt dough (salt dough -mix 1 cup flour, half a cup salt and half a cup of water) to make and cook your own bones to play with
