Story Telling Workshop (The Very Hungry Caterpillar)

Standard

Every half term we learn a new story. We learn the words and the actions (using Makaton) and we perform it for our parents. This half term our story has been ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’.

First we performed our story for our parents, we tried to join in with all the words and actions we could remember from the story.

Then we sang our caterpillar song, ‘There’s a Tiny Caterpillar on a Leaf’

After our performance we returned to our classrooms to make story telling necklaces. We coloured in the pictures from the story, then we put them in the right order and punched a hole in them to create a necklace to retell our story at home.

We took our necklaces home with our song and story words, pictures, actions and story map so we can continue practising our story at home.

A big thank you to all the parents who joined us for our workshop today.
