This week we have been exploring transient art.
This is art that only lasts for a short time, it might be created out of sand, mud or small pieces indoors or outdoors.
For our transient art we used small natural pieces outdoors.
We used weaving rings as frames for our pictures. The children used glass beads, corks, corn, beans, spaghetti, pebbles, pasta and leaves to create their art work then talked about what they had made.
Some children chose to create patterns, other children made people or animals and other children created whole landscapes and scenery.
This activity is very easy to do at home with loose parts around the house or outside. It encourages the children to use their imagination and create art from things they find. The small pieces help children with their fine motor skills getting them ready for writing.
